HI MTA!
Hi! I'm Lalo Remes, a motion graphics editor and graphic designer with years of experience doing explainer and marketing content. Needless to say, working for Maesa in this capacity aligns very well with my abilities and expertise, as well as my passion for educational video content, so I’m eager to shoot my shot.In my 8 years as a freelance video producer and animator, I thrived in turning complex topics into clear, engaging stories for non-technical audiences. I've created graphics and narrative for topics like leadership, cyber security, sexual harassment and other compliance lessons. I've also worked on more recent projects editing and animating content to explain things like financial instruments for Climate Policy Initiative and thermal energy networks for Building Energy Exchange.I currently work as a Media Assistant for State Senator Jabari Brisport, focused on graphic design and social media video production. In the past 4 years, I’ve shot, edited and published dozens of social videos in collaboration with the director of comms and many external allies. These have comprised senate floor speeches, district visits, rallies, interviews, walk-and-talks — and even a sketch, all in the spirit of uplifting our constituents. In my time at the office, we have tripled our follower count on social media, and our posts are generally consistent in their number of likes, views and comments. With this experience, I would bring a dedicated, informed and creative approach to enhance MTA’s social video and graphic needs.With my years of experience producing video, my technical skills, and passion for and sustainability, I’m confident I can serve MTA well in editing and animating short and long form content. Through my journey as a climate solutions enthusiast, I've had the opportunity to edit and animate for a variety of clients, from complex financial instruments for Climate Policy Initiative, to thermal energy networks and decarbonization frameworks for Building Energy Exchange.As a volunteer, I have also worked with organizations like Public Power NY, 350NYC, and CityAtlas.
